DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT - Long Beach, CA

JOB SUMMARY:

The Director, Business Development - Laurysis Consulting is primarily responsible for identifying and building relationships with clients that will result in the sale of various Consulting services from the Laurysis portfolio. This person will be responsible for maintaining and expanding the brand of Laurysis Consulting in the West Coast region. Working in a highly entrepreneurial environment there is great opportunity to influence the client mix and growth of the region.

The Director is required to establish and manage sales strategy for prospects and existing customers, increase lead generation, leverage senior Laurysis executives and allocate organizational resources wisely and efficiently in order to close deals. This position will require experience in closing multi-million dollar deals involving services such as Business and IT Strategy, Web Channel Solutions, Enterprise Integration and Outsourcing.

This person will have the ability to create and execute appropriate sales strategy for any opportunity and be able to operate independently while working closely with others as required.

The position is responsible for overseeing the development and presentation of the solution value proposition, structuring the overall deal (decision makers, partners, sub contractors), negotiating pricing and contractual terms, and aligning with key third party influencers.

Percentage of Time Spent

80% - New business development

  • Independently identify, influence and close deals with potential customers


20% - Revenue growth in the territory


  • Work with strategic alliance partners to drive joint business opportunities and leverage revenue growth in the territory
  • Network within Laurysis to understand and keep abreast of value propositions being developed and sold to other clients


Experience Guidelines:


  • Minimum of 10 years in technology related sales with at least 5 years of specific Consulting services sales to Sr. level executives of Fortune 500 companies
  • Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding annual quotas
  • Must have a background of business development (experience with major consulting organizations preferred)
  • History of establishing, expanding and closing complex, multi-million dollar service engagements ($3+ million)
  • Excellent competitive industry knowledge of west coast
  • Strong knowledge of the target client pool on the west coast
  • Network of prior relationships and contracts (senior level) on the west coast is desirable
  • Ability to forecast with background details supporting your assessment
  • Ability to lead a small team of people through complex sales cycles
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to make compelling presentations to an audience of diverse and senior business stakeholders
  • Strong organization, time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to travel overnight to client sites as needed
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite


Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in business, finance or technology related field.
  • Masters degree in business would be a plus
