ENTERPRISE ARCHITECT - Long Beach, CA
JOB SUMMARY:
Laurysis is looking for skilled and experienced SOA Architects with a strong background in professional consulting, SOA strategy, SOA design, Enterprise Architecture, software development lifecycle, technical implementation and oversight. The Architect will be responsible for delivering client-facing consulting engagements, as well as working directly with SOA Practice Lead to grow the SOA practice.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities for this role include performing the following duties:
Project Delivery (80%)
- Provide new project jumpstart assistance in SOA webService development, reference architecture framework assembly, and ERP and legacy modernization.
- Evaluate and select technologies and products to be used in the project solution, provide customer with vendor selection services, and design standards-based, vendor agnostic solutions.
- Lead onsite advisory consulting engagements, such as, SOA Boot-camps, SOA Roadmaps, Process Architecture and Modeling, IT Strategy.
- Lead onsite architecture consulting engagements, such as Enterprise Architecture consulting, SOA Assessments, Reference Architecture development.
- Lead onsite innovation consulting engagements including: Cloud and SaaS enablement, Rapid Business Prototyping, Web 2.0 enablement.
- Instruct project team on Laurysis' Service Oriented Design and Analysis (SODA) methodology and conduct periodic reviews.
- Work hand in hand with client team to ensure successful SOA Journey across multiple phases (Process Modeling, Service Definition, Capability Design, etc).
- Analyze technical team organization and skills assessment, assist in recruiting activities.
- Instruct project team on Laurysis' Requirements management and application simulation methodology and conduct periodic reviews.
- Aid the project in establish an effort-based estimate and conduct periodic reviews and re-estimates.
- Work closely with domain experts to define requirements for systems.
- ct as the liaison between the Laurysis delivery teams and Laurysis' Software Development Center.
- As required, provide coordination of integration, testing and deployment.
- As required, provide post-production support on all aspects of project.
Business Development (20%)
- Analyzing new project opportunities including meeting with Clients and evangelizing Laurysis SOA design and delivery principals, Laurysis SOA offerings and Laurysis SOA solutions.
- Develop SOA consulting offerings, both horizontally and vertically aligned.
- Develop and maintain a Laurysis' SOA methodology.
- Lead SOA focused presentations at conferences and client sites.
- Lead in developing SOA architectures for proposal development and authoring/managing technical proposal responses. As required, participate or lead any/all phases of a proposal lifecycle.
- Leverage the Laurysis Software Development Center (both onshore and off-shore models) as the "software factory" to build software services as part of the architecture and delivery vehicle.
Required Skills:
- 3+ recent years in Enterprise Architecture, SOA, or application integration, custom application architecture as well as software lifecycle, OO Analysis and Design.
- 2+ recent years in 3 of the following: SOA Governance, SOA Architecture, SOA Fundamentals, SOA Solutions, Business Process Management, Service Development, Enterprise Information Integration (EII), Semantic and Metadata, COTS SOA Tools (such as: Oracle or bea, IBM, webMethods or Software AG, Tibco), Enterprise Service Bus, XML, webServices.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to collaborate are essential - demonstrated professional consulting technical proposal writing is required.
- The ability to work in complex business domains with rapidly changing requirements is required, as is the ability to operate with minimal supervision.
- 4+ years of experience designing and building distributed object-oriented enterprise solutions with a proven track record of delivering high quality, high impact solutions on aggressive time schedules.
Technical Skills:
- Past experience in Enterprise Application Integration or SOA.
- SOA product, design and implementation knowledge
o Rich user interface technologies such as AJAX, ASP.NET, JSF o Business process choreography modeling and execution servers o Enterprise Services Bus / Message Oriented Middleware o Enterprise Information Integration o Metadata repository, data dictionary o WS-I compliant web services design and implementation o Working knowledge of SOA related standards and trends o Semantic Data integration XML Schema, OWL, RDF
- SOA Governance models
- Significant UML and metadata/schema modeling and methods expertise [Rational Unified Process, Microsoft Solutions Framework, Rations Rose, Popkin System Architect, Sparx Enterprise Architect, Visual Studio 2003/2005, Erwin, or similar]
- Requirement management tools and methods [Rational RequisitePro]
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Experience in 1 of the following vertical industries: Healthcare, Government, Oil/Gas, Energy
- Object Oriented Design and Analysis
- Past programming experience [C, C++,C#, Java, SQL]
- Professional System Integrator and consulting experience
